I set a pink conch stone at the heart of this sterling silver ring, encircled by thirteen pink mother of pearl cabochons. I chose each stone for its luster, for the quiet story held in its surface. As light moves across the ring, the patterns shift—each angle revealing something new, much like the layered lives of the oysters that formed them.
I shaped the bezel settings to hold the delicate shells, their thinness requiring precision and care. I twisted the wire by hand, framing the design with depth but without distraction. Sized at 10.5, this ring honors beauty that often goes unnoticed.
Artist Vision
Pink is my favorite color. It carries warmth, depth, and a quiet strength. This ring is a reflection of that—built from materials shaped by time, labor, and patience.
Oysters and conch shells do not form easily. Layer by layer, they build their surfaces, smoothing against water, shifting with the tides. To cut them is to work against their nature. The mother of pearl is thin, delicate, prone to breaking. Each cabochon had to be shaped with care, polished without losing its depth. I placed them with intention, their luster shifting with the smallest motion, catching light from every angle.
This ring is large, deliberate in its weight. The effort it took to shape each piece is held in the silver, in the way it all comes together. A celebration of individuality, complexity, and the beauty that takes work to reveal.
